If you were happy with the six-core 5600X, it would be the easiest way to get this under budget.

This is the unfortunate reality of modern PC building. Even this build makes some compromises I'd rather not make in terms of storage. I can't actually do that without significant compromises. This brings us to £1700 for the computer. We can say the monitor is a Samsung G5 at £300 (there are other equivalent options at around the same price if you prefer a flat screen). At that price we are aiming for 1440p and therefore a 3060 Ti. You want eight cores for the animation stuff (you definitely can't afford more). Let's assume that your budget is around £2000 including VAT and that you need a monitor and peripherals in that as well.

The monitor in particular is a 1080p 60Hz one: even the 3060 would be way overkill for it. The second problem is the mix of premium stuff (the graphics card) with cheap stuff (the case and the monitor, probably also the cooler, the RAM and the storage).
If you have a specific program with a specific incompatability, that might be a good reason, but unless you have that specific problem (and not just FUD), go with AMD. For the vast majority of programs, there are no compatibility problems between processors. First is the CPU: Intel is not a good choice. There are a bunch of problems there, really. I definitely want to know if Bluetooth is included. My overall budget is around the £1500 mark (ex VAT).Īny thoughts or advice welcome. I definitely want the RTX 3070 as a good balance between performance and budget. Also, is Bluetooth built in on the Wireless network card? (I've just realised I have no idea where Bluetooth is built into a pc). Mostly I want to know if that motherboard and power supply are the best ones to choose.
